Territory and sustainability

Our vineyards have a privileged wine cultivation situation, since its vines receive the sun and the necessary humidity for the perfect grape ripening.

OUR WINES

DRY WHITE 2021

Varietals: White Listán 80%, Black Listán 20%. 

Location: The grapes come from two farms in Granadilla de Abona: Los Frontones, the highest vineyard in Spain at an altitude of 1650 m; and Cruz de Tea, located at 950 m.a.s.l. 

Viticulture: Root stock vineyards going back over 60 years. 

Production: Harvest from 25th August to 6th September. Fermentation in stainless steel vats and in wooden foudres. After alcoholic fermentation, it was mixed and bottled at the end of November. 

Tasting note: Rich volcanic salinity. A vertical structure white with powerful sapidity and sharp finish. A v ery fresh and saline sensation which invites pleasant sips.

This wine will age well in bottles for at least 3 years.

Factsheet: Alcohol content: 12 %vol. – Total Acidity: 6.1 g/l Tartaric – pH: 3.1 – Volatile Acidity: 0.56 g/l – Residual Sugar 1.5 g/l – Total Sulphites: 62 mg/l 

SEMI-SWEET WHITE 2021

Varietals: Listán Blanco 70%, Listán negro 20%, Verdello 7%, Moscatel 3%.

Location: The Verdello and Moscatel varietals are grown in our Tamaide vineyards (surrounding Las Vistas restaurant) while the Listan Blanco and Listan Negro grapes are from our farm in Cruz de Tea (Granadilla de Abona).

Viticulture: The grape was harvested from 24th August to 13th September.

Tasting notes: A seductive, suave and delicate wine with initial resonances of fruit, gay millefleurs, easy to drink.   (Rasa Strankauskaite)

Production: 7000 0.75 cl bottles

Factsheet:Alcoholic content: 10.5 º / Volatile Acidity: 0.34 g / l / Total Sulfur: 56 mg / l. Total Acidity: 5.2 g/l in tartaric acid /Reducing sugars 30 g/l/ pH: 3,0

Red 2019

Varietals: Black Listán 100%.

Location: El Farroillo (600 m.a.s.l.) and Tamaide (550 m.a.s.l.), in Santa Ursula.

Viticulture: Traditional vines planted over 80 years ago in El Farroillo and two-tier cordon trellis vines planted 25 years ago in Tamaide.

Production: The grape is transported to the winery in 15 kg crates. It is destemmed, pressed and introduced in 2500 and 5000 l vats for alcohol fermentation at a temperature of between 22 and 25 ºC. After 5-7 days, once fermentation is complete, it is removed from the vats and after decanting is passed to new 500 l French and American oak casks for malolactic fermentation until the end of April. The wine was bottled in June 2021

Tasting note: A vivid wine with aromas of myrtle, spices, liquorice and a hint of black pepper. Its juicy tannins and incipient minerality are capable of lifting the spirits. Zesty and vibrant to share with friends.

It will age well in bottles for at least 6 years.

Production: 25500 bottles

Ficha técnica: Grado Alcohólico: 13,2 º/ Acidez Volatil: 0,55 / Sulfuroso Total: 40 mg/l. Acidez Total: 5,6 g/l en ácido tartárico /Azúcares reductores 1,6 g/l . Crianza en barrica: 6 meses en barricas de 500 l / pH: 3,55 / Glicerol: 11 g/l

RED 2020

Varietals: Black Listán 100%. 

Location: El Farroillo (600 m.a.s.l.) and Tamaide (550 m.a.s.l.), in Santa Ursula.

Los Frontones 2021

Varietals: White Listán 100% 

Location: Los Frontones, Granadilla de Abona. This vineyard is located at an altitude of 1650m.a.s.l in southwestern Tenerife, the highest vineyard in Europe. 

Viticulture: Root stock vineyards planted over 60 years ago and farmed sustainably (organic farming certificate). 

Production: Pressed in whole bunches, withou squeezing or destemming. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeast in 1500 l foudres. Partial malolactic fermentation. The wine is kept on its lies in the foudres until bottling. Wine without stabilization process. 

Tasting note: Brilliant gold with distinct aromas of citrus fruits, spices and flowers. A vibrant and rotund acidity makes this wine unforgettable. A highly promising culinary wine. 

It will age well in bottles for at least 5 years. 

Limited production: 4422 0.75 cl bottles 

Factsheet: Alcohol content: 13.23 %Vol. – Total Acidity: 6.7 g/l Tartaric – pH: 2.95 – Volatile Acidity: 0.60 g/l Residual – Sugars: 1.5 g/l 

Total Sulphites: 73 mg/l 

Ojitos Tinto 2020

Varietals: Black Listán 100%. 

Location: Finca Ojitos, Santa Úrsula. Altitude 600 m.a.s.l. 

Viticulture: Traditional vines planted over 80 years ago. 

Production: Manual harvest, the grape is transported to the winery in 15 kg crates. Fermented with stems in open oak casks. After alcohol fermentation the wine was moved to 500 l French oak casks, where it stayed for 9 months until bottling. 

Tasting note: A fine cherry red with purple reflections, with an alluring aroma of lavender, cedar and fresh herbs, resonant of sweet, ripe fruit, salt and pepper. It is ample, complex, elegant and difficult to forget. 

It will age well in bottles for at least the next 8-12 years. 

Production: 2160 bottles 

Factsheet: Alcohol content: 12.5 %Vol. – Total Acidity: 5.1 g/l Tartaric – pH: 3.67 – Volatile Acidity: 0.55 – Residual Sugars: 1.6 g/l – Glycerol: 10.7 g/l 

Total Sulphites: 45 mg/l – Aging in casks: 8 months in 500 l casks 

Vidal 2019

Varietals: Black Listán 100%. 

Location: Vidal Parcel, Camino Monroy, Santa Úrsula. Altitude 650 m.a.s.l. 

Viticulture: Traditional vines planted over 80 years ago. 

Production: Manual harvesting, the grape is transported to the winery in 15 kg crates. Fermented with stems in open oak casks. After alcohol fermentation the wine was moved to 500 l French oak casks, where it stayed for 8 months until bottling. 

Tasting note: A fine cherry red with purple reflections, hints of mature fruit, cedar, fig leaves and something delicious which is difficult to identify. Unique and mineral in the mouth with shivers of pleasure. Immense, saline, complex. 

It will age well in bottles for at least the next 6-10 years. 

Production: 1300 bottles 

Factsheet: Alcohol content: 12,5 %Vol. – Total Acidity: 5.3 g/l Tartaric – pH: 3.57 – Volatile Acidity: 0.6 g/l – Residual Sugars 1.6 g/l – Glycerol: 9.5 g/l 

Total Sulphites: 45 mg/l – Aging in casks: 8 months in 500 l casks

At Bodega Piedra Fluida, we are promoters of high altitude wines in the sense of the broadest sense of the word. Wines produced from grapes harvested in estates planted at more than 1,600 meters above sea level, with differential characteristics that make our wines unique.
